WHO WE ARE
We are a church who believes that Jesus is good news for everyone, including you.
OUR STORY
Fort Hill Community Church started out of a desire to see everyday people rethink the place of God in their everyday lives. In 2017, while working for a lobster company in Portland, our pastor, Aaron, spent most of his days hanging out with lobstermen.
Along the way, he started having conversations with them about God and faith. What he found is that while most folks believe in God, this belief had very little impact on their day-to-day lives. If there is a God who created all things, including you, how could that not have a massive impact on your life?
Having already lived in Gorham for a few years, he longed to see his friends and neighbors discover the God that not only created them but abundantly loves them. Ultimately this meant introducing them to Jesus Christ who died for them that they might be made right with God.
So, in early 2018 he left his current church to start a new gathering in Gorham with his family and friends focused on introducing others to Jesus. In this spirit, we want to welcome you, the devout and skeptic alike, to join us as we rethink God together. There is a God, and that matters. Join us as we discover this together.
OUR MISSION
WE EXIST TO HELP OTHERS KNOW, LOVE, AND FOLLOW JESUS
KNOW
Most folks don’t know the real Jesus. We want to change that. Through intentional relationships, community outreach, and honest conversation we want to introduce our friends and neighbors to the real Jesus.
FOLLOW
Finally, true faith in Christ leads to life transformation. We want to help others know Jesus personally as they would a close friend and begin following his example in their everyday lives.
LOVE
God has called us to love Him and to love others. The old axiom that “people don’t care about how much you know until they know how much you care” holds true. Likewise, we are called to exemplify Jesus through self-less love and service towards our neighbors and larger community.
HELP
Ultimately, as we help others know, love, and follow Jesus, they will in turn help others know, love, and follow Jesus. This is our goal - the multiplication of Christ-followers for the good of Gorham and glory of Jesus Christ.
